FAQ

Q. Which is the best betting exchange.
A. The best and most popular exchange is called Betfair.  You can also use the links button on the left of this page to visit their home page. You will come back to this site when you finish.

Q. Will I be able to  receive messages when I am on holiday?
A. No problem. Just let me have you mobile phone number, with dates you are away, and I will send a text message for free, as well as the usual email. ( use my "contact"  button (on the left of this page) and let me have your mobile number).  Using my text service is also important, if find you getting problems receiving my emails. If you  are using one of the free server firms like AOL, HOTMAIL, or MSN, and also NTLWORLD where fast and reliable email service is something of a known problem, then the text service might be useful.  Generally, paid servers give better services.

Q. If your method is profitable, why offer your selections?
A. I had a very successful career before I took betting seriously.  I owned my own company, and use to write software for business marketing. If I can increase my income as well as bet, then it makes good financial sense. Although, I admit, I have a better standard of living than most people, I am not a millionaire and need to exploit my expertise in as many ways as I can. I believe I have a valuable service, and it would seem a pity to waste the full potential by not increasing my income, in addition to the risks and profits that I already make.

Q. How do you select you bets ?
A. The key to my success is to know which type of race offers the greatest potential profit, and which ones to avoid like the plague. In this respect, I probably have an edge over the average punter. I have literally thousands of results from previous races on a computer programme, which I have specially written to analyse horse racing form.

I have found that in certain race types, the form horse usually wins, whilst in others it usually fails.  I wrote a computer programme, to analyse the very best type of race covering numerous factors such as the going, type and class of race etc.  The other aspect of the programme concerns which of the form horses within these key races are most likely to cross the finishing line first, and which ones are more likely not to repeat previous good form. This part of the programme takes into account the class of each of the main horses, speed figures, the draw, plus a host of other relevant factors which could have an influence on the outcome of the race. The programme selects the horses based upon  computer ratings using a matrix of algorithams. I only select just the top rated horses for my backing service.

The profit and success rates which I am looking for must be highly weighted in my favour. Previous results cannot always be used when predicting the future, unless the results are overwhelmingly obvious with sufficient numbers to be meaningful over a very long period of time. - preferably years rather than months or weeks.

Q. How do you send your bets to members.
A. All details are sent by email (and text to mobile, if wanted as well).  I usually send messages between 9pm and 2am the night before racing, but very occasionally send the odd message out later if I have concerns about the going, or need to do more checks. I then send out by noon (at the latest) on the morning of racing, so you will have plenty of time to seek the best prices. During the summer, I also will send some messages late afternoon (6pm at the latest) for evening races. (You are advised to let me have your mobile number if you think you will not always be able to use your computer for checking the emails at these times, - it cost no extra to have the text service as well as the email messages). If you have access to your emails using your mobile phone, this should not no problems getting any of my messages.

The messages, will show the name of the racecourse, time of race, the horse's race number. Also, after the horse's name, the Racing Posts forecasted odds,  which will only give very rough indications of the likely odds you will actual obtain, but this is better than nothing. These forecasted odds are shown in decimal format for ease of use, if you are using the exchanges. So, for example odds of 3-1 will be shown as 4.0, and 5-2 will be 3.5.

The example below is the format of messages for both backs and lays.

Bets for May 11th
BACK  EXE 1.50 7 GIRODE   1.8
BACK  EXE 2.50 4 MOSCOW WHISPER 2.25
BACK  EXE 4.30 7 TEDDY BOY  3.5

LAY  PERTH 8.30 8 LITTLE FORA 4.0

RESULT:- This was a good day for Computer Form. All three backs managing to win. The lay bet was last to finish. (Unfortunately, not all my advices are this good, but I do have quite a few good days, followed, perhaps, by the odd day or two when everything falls to pieces, including me!!

 Q. How much bank will I need to make a start.
A.  To be safe, you should have a bank of at least 50 times the stake. So if you are betting in £10 per stake, then you should have a bank of at least £500. This may seem excessive, but any service can have bad patches when it all goes wrong before things pick up again. Its best to bet safe in the knowledge that a sensible bank is unlikely to run too low, and this should lessen any pressure to give up during a poor spell.

Q. How many bets per day are you advising?
A. This will vary according to the time of year. As a rough guide, for lays expect between 5 to 10 lays per month, and for backs expect 5 to 20.  It's a quality, not quantity service. The winter months will have less selections for the lays, than in the summer. There certainly will be many days, when the computer does not rate any horse as a valued bet, so do not expect to receive a bet every day. On the other hand, some days there will be multiple bets, followed by perhaps one or two days with no bets at all. I do not have any set daily or monthly number as such. I bet whenever the opportunity presents itself.

What is the success win rate percentage?
Do not expect every month to be in profit. I do have many months with very good profits followed by the odd month which I rather forget about! I do not have a crystal ball, and all advices are based upon the very best that form selection will obtain. It's far from 100% but over time it will be profitable. My win and losing bets, like buses, are not evenly spaced; they can arrive in bunches. Five or six loses followed by five or six winners is not an infrequent occurence for my backing to win selections. It's the laws of chance. My nap back bets should win a little more frequently than the other backs. For my laying service the success rate is better but you have to allow for the higher loss, when unsuccessful.  I normally expect my backs to achieve at least over 45% success rate most months, and the lays over 50% success.

Most years should show a profit, although like most, or should I say all, similar advice organisations, do expect some losing months in an average year.  Things should even themselves in the long run because my computer software analyses every race, and, selects only horses which have shown consistent results in similar races with similar opposition before.

As I am using a form-based computer programme, don't expect any 10-1 winners. Most of the backs will be in the 4-6 to 4-1 range. (I have found that backing "odds on" still seems to makes a profit using this method).  About 80% will end up course favourite or joint favourite. Rest assured all my advises are based upon a very sound reason to be selected, and as such, will be well backed on and off the  course. The average odds of the lays will be from odds-on up to 2-1. You are not advised to lay over 3-1 (4.0), although thats up to you.

I am not quite sure why this computerised method makes a profit over a period of time. Perhaps the reason is consistency. Most punters do not follow such a highly discipled method in order to select the best bets, and use less logical methods. My computer does not have hunches, nor "I feel lucky today" frame of mind, nor is it's judgement adversely affected by a bad sequence of losses, and it does not get too emotional after a long sequence of winning selections either.
